Dick’s is an independent clothing and homeware store based in Edinburgh. A curation of considered pieces for both men and women sourced from artisans and designers around the world. Each piece carefully selected by their knowledgable and passionate team with craftsmanship, ethos and longevity in mind.
They were sending weekly emails to one contact list, but without a strategy or any reflection of the impeccable products or services that their customers receive in store.
Switch of Platforms
Without disturbance to their current list, we switched platforms to Flodesk where we were able to implement a creative strategy to boost engagement and sales.
Template design
Translating the in-store experience to inboxes was the anchor to the template design. Elevating their love for simple, clean comms into contemporary and thoughtful designs.
Segmentation
From one catch-all list, I carefully segmented their existing audiences by gender, location and purchase history, allowing for more targeted campaigns with much fewer unsubscribes.
Strategy
From the simple things like adding a pop-up sign-up form, to identifying key dates and content for each new segment — we built a strategy that was both creative + manageable for the team to continue with.

Building a nurture series brought introduced new customers to their knowledge, passion and creativity. It also allowed for new subscribers to self-segment into the lists that interest them most; women’s, men’s etc.
Wider Strategy
Making sure that their email list became a call-to-action in it’s own right across socials by including it into their wider digital strategy. Ensuring their email list will grow and evolve over time.
